General Questions

What are your office hours?

Our office hours are:

  • Tuesday - Thursday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

We're available for dental emergencies at (510) 770-0393.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most major dental insurance plans including Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, and many PPO plans. We'll verify your benefits before any treatment and help you understand your coverage. We also offer CareCredit for treatments not covered by insurance.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit includes a comprehensive oral examination, digital X-rays if needed, oral cancer screening, and a thorough cleaning. We'll discuss your dental health goals, review your medical history, and create a personalized treatment plan. The appointment typically takes 60-90 minutes.

How often should I have dental checkups?

We recommend dental checkups and cleanings every six months for most patients. However, some patients with specific conditions like gum disease may need more frequent visits (every 3-4 months). Regular checkups help prevent dental problems and catch any issues early when they're easier and less expensive to treat.

Treatment Questions

Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes, professional teeth whitening is very safe when performed by a dentist. We use high-quality whitening agents and protect your gums and soft tissues during treatment. Our in-office whitening can brighten your teeth by several shades in one visit, and we also offer custom take-home kits for gradual whitening.

What is Invisalign and how does it work?

Invisalign is a clear aligner system that straightens teeth without traditional metal braces. You'll wear a series of custom-made, removable aligners that gradually shift your teeth into place. The aligners are virtually invisible, comfortable, and can be removed for eating and cleaning. Treatment typically takes 12-18 months.

Do root canals hurt?

Modern root canal treatment is no more uncomfortable than getting a filling. We use local anesthesia to numb the area completely, and our advanced techniques make the procedure efficient and pain-free. Most patients are relieved to have the tooth pain gone after treatment. Any post-treatment discomfort is usually mild and manageable with over-the-counter pain relievers.

How long do dental crowns last?

With proper care, dental crowns can last 10-15 years or longer. The lifespan depends on the material used, the location of the crown, and your oral hygiene habits. We use high-quality materials and advanced bonding techniques to ensure the best possible longevity. Regular checkups and good oral hygiene will help maximize the life of your crown.

Financial Questions

What payment options do you offer?

We accept cash, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), and offer financing options:

  • CareCredit healthcare financing
  • Insurance co-payment processing

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, we offer financing options to make dental care affordable. We work with CareCredit for extended payment options. During your consultation, we'll discuss all available options and help you find a solution that fits your budget.

Can I use my HSA/FSA?

Absolutely! Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are excellent ways to pay for dental care with pre-tax dollars. We accept HSA/FSA debit cards and can provide detailed receipts for reimbursement. Most dental treatments, including preventive care, restorative work, and orthodontics, are eligible expenses.

Most Frequent Questions

Do you accept Delta Dental and PPO insurance plans?

Yes. We accept Delta Dental and all PPO insurance plans. If you're not sure about your exact coverage, our team can verify your benefits before treatment so you know what to expect.

What if I am not sure whether my plan is PPO or HMO?

No problem. We can still help verify your plan details. PPO plans are broadly accepted here, and for HMO plans we can confirm whether your assigned dental group allows treatment at our office.

Do you treat snoring and sleep apnea, and do you provide CPAP?

We treat snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea with custom Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT). We do not provide or service CPAP machines.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring a photo ID, your insurance card, and any current medication list. We recommend arriving about 15 minutes early so we can complete paperwork smoothly before your exam and cleaning.
